How do you ensure the quality and safety of your infused oils and vinegars?
Our infused oils and vinegars are crafted in small batches using premium, lab-tested ingredients to ensure purity and safety. Each batch is made with care in our farm kitchen, following strict hygiene standards. We’re proud to offer products that are both delicious and safe for your table!
Are your products suitable for dietary restrictions (e.g., vegan, gluten-free)?
Our infused oils and vinegars are naturally vegan and gluten-free, made with pure ingredients like olive oil, herbs, and fruits. Our cutting boards are finished with food-safe, plant-based oils. However, products are made in a facility that may handle allergens. Please check ingredient lists or contact us for details!
How should I store my infused oils and vinegars?
Store oils and vinegars in a cool, dark place away from heat (e.g., pantry, not near the stove). Unopened bottles are best when used in a year, and once opened, use within 2–3 months for best flavor. Vinegars can last up to a year unopened, 6 months opened.
Why do you use dark green bottles for your infused oils and vinegars?
At Humming Hills Farm, we choose dark green bottles to protect the vibrant flavors and quality of our infused oils and vinegars. The dark glass blocks harmful UV light, which can degrade oils and herbs over time, ensuring every drop stays fresh and delicious for longer. It’s like giving our products a cozy, protective hug! We could use clear bottles, but we’d rather prioritize taste over looks—our Valais Blacknose sheep agree that flavor beats fashion any day!
Why are some of your labels not straight?
Each bottle at Humming Hills Farm is labeled by hand with love and care—no fancy machines here! We skip expensive equipment to keep our costs low, passing the savings to you. A slightly crooked label just means it’s been touched by human hands, not a robot. Plus, our Valais Blacknose sheep approve of the rustic charm!
Do your sheep help make the products?
Our Valais Blacknose sheep are more like our cheerleading squad! They inspire our wedding favors and keep the farm buzzing with joy, but they leave the oil infusing and vinegar blending to us humans. Don’t worry—no woolly paws touch your products, though they might try to nibble the herbs we grow!
Why is your farm called Humming Hills?
When we settled on our small farm in Hamburg, PA, we dreamed of raising alpacas, charmed by their soft humming chatter. Hummingbirds flocked to our feeders, adding their delicate buzz, and we envisioned beehives humming with life. Though our Valais Blacknose sheep stole the show, the name Humming Hills Farm captures the joyful harmony of our land—and the love we pour into our infused oils, vinegars, and sheep-inspired crafts!
Can I visit your farm to meet the sheep?
Our Valais Blacknose sheep would love the attention, but our farm is a working production space, not open for tours right now. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for sheep selfies and farm updates!
What’s the weirdest flavor combo you’ve tried?
Oh, we’ve had some wild experiments! Think lavender-chili oil that was… an adventure. Our team (and sheep, unofficially) voted it out, but it sparked some laughs. Got a crazy flavor idea? Contact us—we’re all ears (or hooves)!
Do sheep approve your products?”
They give a hearty “baa” of approval!
How do I care for my cutting board?”
Hand-wash, oil monthly with food-safe oil. Never soak.
Do you sell sheep wool products?
Not yet, but our sheep are knitting ideas!
